Opening of Rakvere Police and Rescue Service Building

On Friday, February 4th 2011, was the grand opening of Rakvere Police and Rescue Service Building, designed by Amhold. Among others, the event was attended by the Minister of the Interior Marko Pomerants, Lääne-Viru County Governor Einar Vallbaum, Rakvere Mayor Andres Jaadla, Prefect of the East Prefecture of the Police and Border Guard Board Aldis Alus, Director of East-Estonian Regional Rescue Centre Ailar Holzmann and Chairman of the State Real Estate Ltd Jaak Saamiit.
The total gross area of the designed building is 6965 m2 and it includes necessary premises for police and rescue officials, offices and customer service hall of the Citizenship and Migration Board, detention centre, detoxication centre, archive rooms for physical evidence, shooting range, different rooms for weapon and ammunition, technical premises of the police and rescue emergency centre, canine spaces and garage for emergency vehicles. The Contracting Authority is State Real Estate Ltd and construction works were performed by Oma Ehitaja Ltd.

As the lead designer Amhold performed the following services: architecture, interior design, furnishing, landscaping design, structural engineering, HVAC, electrical engineering, security systems, control engineering, sprinkler systems, clear agent-agent fire extinguishing systems, greenery, traffic and parking schemes. Also, Amhold conducted engineering technical and environmental surveys and performed author’s supervision during construction works.
