Cornerstone of Järva County Vocational Training Centre

On June 30, 2011, the cornerstone was laid for the new dormitory of Järva County Vocational Training Centre in a ceremonial event in Paide.

The gross area of the building complex is 4,677.1 m2 and the gross area of the campus is 51,940 m2.

A canteen, a study hall with a library and other rooms necessary for dormitory services will be built to the ground floor of the dormitory. Living facilities for 220 students will be built to the first, second, and third floor. The dormitory building will be connected to the academic building that makes the building complex of the vocational training centre as a whole. The present academic building will be entirely reconstructed and in addition to the regular classrooms the building will include workshop classrooms and a canteen. Only the walls of the old buildings will remain when the dormitories are reconstructed. Additionally, a new sports hall and practically a new stadium will be built next to the school building.

As a result of the construction works, there will be approximately 4,000 m2 of additional new space.

As the lead designer of the dormitories and the infrasystems of the entire campus, Amhold performed the following design disciplines: architecture, interior design, landscaping, electrical engineering, also engineering-technical and environmental surveys, traffic and parking schemes, HVAC, water and sewerage systems, greenery for the territory, quantity surveying and maintenance cost optimisation.

The building is scheduled to be completed by January 2012 at the latest.
