Fuel distribution complex reconstruction design review at ISAF HQ in Kabul, Afghanistan completed

11.05.2015

AS Amhold completed design review of the construction project for the fuel distribution complex at ISAF HQ in Kabul, Afghanistan. Design review included structural and special parts’ project and technical inspection and coordination of specifications of delivered materials and certificates. In addition, Amhold provided consultancy services in technological issues and included fuel stations technologist to the team. The construction project was prepared by Turkish design-construction company.

The project needed to take into consideration the austere environmental aspects, as the location of the project and its strategic importance, because the working site is located in the centre of the conflict area and ISAF activities in Afghanistan are coordinated from the base. It was important for the Client that the fuel tanks are protected from the attacks (incl. attacks with hand firearms, grenades, big calibre guns and also missile attacks). In addition to that supplementary security measures were taken into use to protect the base’s secured territory from potential intruders, if needed.

The project continues with construction works and thereafter Amhold will provide onsite supervision services in Afghanistan to secure that construction works are performed according to the project and overall quality requirements.
